
Audition Flier OLYMPIA YOUTH CHORUS Audition Information 2008-2009 Olympia Youth Chorus is a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing the art of choral singing to young singers in our area. OYC has four choral levels, each bringing a fun and rewarding experience to its members. We are pleased to add the OYC Men’s Ensemble in 2008-2009. Auditions and weekly rehearsals are held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Olympia. Junior Choir: grades K-2 in Fall, 2008 Beth Tobin, Director Rehearsals: Mondays, 4:30 – 5:15 p.m. 360-866-4962 Tuition: $40 per month This group for very young singers incorporates singing with movement and rhythm in a fun and inviting manner. Cadet Choir: grades 3-6 in Fall, 2008 Amy Holcombe, Director Rehearsals: Mondays, 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. 360-400-2648 Tuition: $50 per month This choir training program features singing, movement and rhythm and places an emphasis on sight-singing and vocal training in preparation for Concert Choir. Concert Choir: grades 7 - 12 in Fall, 2008 Cynthia Dinsmore, Director Rehearsals: Mondays, 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. 360-943-6179 Tuition: $55 per month This chorus has been established for singers with solid basic music skills and vocal technique required for more challenging music, longer rehearsals, and performances. Concert Choir will participate in PICCFEST in Eugene, Oregon in summer 2009. Chamber Choir: Grades 9-12 in Fall, 2008 Cynthia Dinsmore, Director Rehearsals: Mondays, 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. 360-943-6179 Tuition: $55 per month Choir members are selected for their advanced music skills and choral technique. Singers are selected by the director and must have a commitment to longer rehearsals, more performances, and advanced choral literature. This choir will take part in an international tour in the summer of 2010. Men’s Ensemble: For changed voices – Grades 8-12 in Fall, 2008 Cynthia Dinsmore, Director Rehearsals: Wednesdays, 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. 360-943-6179 Tuition: $55 per month Ensemble members must have changed voices and are selected for their advanced music skills and choral technique. This choir will sing TTBB Music and work with the Chamber Choir to sing SATB Choral Literature.
