Cindy is a Choral Music Director with the Olympia School District. She holds a B.A. in
Music Education and Voice from Central Washington University with post-graduate
training at Saint Martin’s University and Pacific Lutheran University. She
is a member of the Music Educator’s National Conference, the Evergreen Orff
Chapter, and the American Choral Directors Association. She is a native of Olympia
and resides in Boston Harbor with her husband and three children.
Amy S. Holcombe
Concert Choir Director
Amy began teaching middle school choir and drama for the North Clackamas
School District in Oregon after graduating from Portland State University with a
Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Music Education. She also served as
a director to the North Clackamas Children’s Choir for over 10 years. In the
summer of 2007, Amy moved to Yelm with her husband and two young boys. As a
certified teacher in K-12 Music, she now supports area schools and students through
private voice lessons and guest teaching. She is enthusiastic about discovering,
developing and defining the voice and producing excellence in young choral singers.
Rachel Landowski
Cadet Choir Director
Rachel graduated from Washington State University with a degree in music education. She teaches seventh and eighth grade choir at Chinook Middle School and kindergarten through second grade general music at Peter G. Schmidt Elementary. She also teaches piano and voice lessons in the afternoons. She has accompanied singers at district and state music festivals, and accompanies the Black Hills High School musical in the spring. Rachel lives with her husband in Tumwater.
Beth Tobin
Junior Choir Director
Beth has been working with young children and
music since 1979, and for the past fourteen years, has
been directing choirs in Alaska and Washington. She
holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education
from Pacific Lutheran University and is a member of the
Choristers Guild and the American Choral Directors
Association. Beth loves the energy young children
express in their singing. She excels at finding creative
ways to help children develop music skills while having
great fun. Beth lives in Olympia with her husband and three
children.
Suzanne Olson
Accompanist
Suzanne is an elementary school music specialist for the Shelton School
District. She received her B.M. Ed. degree from PLU in 1995 (cum laude) and her Master of Education degree
from Lesley University in 2000. She has taught middle school strings and
choir, as well as elementary general music in Tumwater and Las Vegas, Nevada.
In 2002 and 2005 Suzanne traveled through Europe as organist and choir member
with the PLU Choral Union community choir. Her experience includes musical
theatre and church music. She is the choir director at Faith Lutheran Church
and the organist at St. David of Wales Episcopal Church, both in Shelton,
where she and husband Daniel reside.
Jeannie Crain
Accompanist
Jeannie is the choir/drama director at Tenino Middle and High Schools.
She received a B.A. in Choral Music Education at Anderson University
(Anderson, Indiana), with piano being her instrument. In 2007 she received
her Master's Degree in Choral Music Education from the University of Oregon.
She is a member of the Music Educator's National Conference and currently
sings with the Olympia Choral Society. She regularly accompanies students
in regional and state solo and ensemble contests and plays in the pit of her
musical each year.
Valerie Fluetsch
Executive Director
Valerie is a former physical education/health teacher and also served as
athletic director in her 18-year tenure in the public schools. Valerie
currently owns and operates an Olympia-based event planning business.
She has been the Program and Tour Manager for OYC since 2000. Thus far,
Valerie has led OYC choir trips in Washington, Hawaii, Oregon, California,
and England. Valerie and her husband reside in Olympia and are recent
'empty nesters' with three children in college.
Jenifer Morgan
Accountant
Jenifer received her BBA in accounting from Southwest Texas State University in 1981.
She has been working for various nonprofit organizations for 27 years. Currently she
is the Finance Manager for TOGETHER!, Westminster Presbyterian church and The
Neighborhood Free Medical Clinic. She and her husband Jim live in Tumwater with
their two college age children.
